Show Bits: Animation by Aaron Keuter

Featured Artists

Show Bits is the strange creation of artist, animator, designer, and occasional improv comedian Aaron Keuter. He runs an independent motion graphics shop—Crabfood—in Portland, Oregon, where he lives with his wife, Bethany, and their son, Desmond. The genesis of what Keuter calls a “shameless attempt at becoming Instagram famous” started when he was sketching on an iPad and listening to Bob Dylan. “I was making Dylan sounds to myself as I was drawing and eventually turned Dylan into a police siren. It made my wife laugh, so I put it on the internet, where it made my friends laugh. Now strangers on the internet laugh at it, which is a really great feeling.” Show Bits has since evolved into repurposing the voices of other well-known singers in unexpected and hilarious ways. Sometimes it’s an absurd take on an iconic song. Other times a vocal sample turns into the sound effect of a noisy object. “I think that’s how the jokes work,” he says. “I’m not sure. I don’t really know until they make me laugh.” Keep up with Keuter and Show Bits at instagram.com/show_bits.
